Jeremiah 37:5-7

5 aThe army of Pharaoh had come out of Egypt. And when bthe Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news about them, cthey withdrew from Jerusalem.

6Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet: 7Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who dsent you to me to inquire of me, ‘Behold, ePharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to freturn to Egypt, to its own land.

Lamentations 4:17

17 gOur eyes failed, ever watching

Hosea 5:13

13 When Ephraim saw his sickness,

1Ephraim feeds on the wind
and pursues rthe east wind all day long;
they multiply sfalsehood and violence;
tthey make a covenant with Assyria,
and uoil is carried to Egypt.

Hosea 14:3

3 vAssyria shall not save us;
wwe will not ride on horses;
and xwe will say no more, ‘Our God,’
to the work of our hands.
yIn you the orphan finds mercy.”
